ELLEN MUELLER
We are thrilled to welcome Ellen Mueller as our inaugural artist in residence!
In fall 2024, Ellen joined Amilado Press for private instruction in watercolor monotype and stencil monoprint and studio access. During her 2025 residency, Ellen plans to build off the work previously completed at Amilado Press, and expand into new subject matter and color palettes. She states “I’m excited to be spending some more time thinking about power as it relates to single family homes, the pre-colonial environment of Minnesota, electrical grids, nature, and larger community systems of infrastructure. I am also influenced by my garden where I spend a lot of time with native plants in an urban landscape, chatting with neighbors and passers-by.”
Ellen Mueller (she/her) has exhibited nationally and internationally as an interdisciplinary artist exploring issues related to the environment and capitalism as it affects daily life. She lives and works in Minneapolis, MN, received her MFA from University of South Florida, and has authored multiple zines, artist books, and textbooks. More at EllenMueller.com
